With the widest, longest, and smoothest track in world, there is no doubt that the LTA lives up to its distinction as THE FUTURE OF LAND SPEED.
The LTA, like our friends at ECTA, SCTA, and USFRA, have a goal to provide racers with a safe and fun venue to race And while we are similar in providing rules and maitianing records, there are distinctions to be made.
RULES -
While we do not share a common rulebook, our organizations do collaborate and maintian rules that are effectively the same. This allows racers from these venues to race with other organizations with no or only minimal changes to their equipment.
RECORDS -
Records are kept by each organization and are not shared. While racers do chase the absolute record for their class, the record we maintain is the one set at our track only.
MEMBERSHIP -
Unlike others, the LTA does not require membership in an organization to race with us. For others, membership affords the right to drive at events. We instead allow one driver with your registration and any additional drivers are assesed a driver change fee.
CLASSES -
The class distinctions of our organizations are the same for most vehicles and engines. The LTA does have some classes that are exclusive to our organization or shared with the ECTA. The rule book states classes that are LTA only.
RULES PROCESS -
We maintain a technical board with 5 members that determine rules and class changes. Anyone is free to request class or rules changes or to take part in the process. We also seek outside advice from sources that can be of assistance with technical matters. In addition to this, we also impliment all SCTA rule changes that are applicable to all vehicles and are not considered venue specific.
